Our first taste test

So, I picked up a six pack of IBC cream soda, a single bottle of Jones's Cream Soda, and a six pack of Virgil's Cream Soda. We did a blind taste test of each. One thing I learned. You need a palate cleanser between each sip. It's easy for these things to run together to skew what you think you're drinking. Another thing we learned. We couldn't stand the Jones cream soda. We both only took a couple sips, and then threw the rest out. I was really disappointed with it. We both liked the IBC, but felt Virgil's was the best, which is interesting, because there seems to be a lot of love out there for IBC. I felt Virgil's hit the "cream" note with a richness that IBC simply did not. Virgil's is really sweet, and it does leave an aftertaste, where IBC doesn't, at all. But the vanilla hit was so weak with IBC that I was pretty underwhelmed. So, out these three: Virgil's, IBC, Jones.

Just starting off..

There is a great place to eat here in Provo called Station 22. They have a wonderful variety of sodas in glass bottles for you to purchase with your meal (which is also quite good). I tried a cream soda, which I never was a fan of, but the other options seemed too extreme for lunch. I was really impressed. I ended up buying two more to take home, one for my wife, the other for me. Then we found our local grocery store carried them. Welcome to my new addiction. The wife and I are buying them all, tasting them, and posting our thoughts. They're just opinions, so let us know what you think.
